Yes, one of our professional team members will do an on-site evaluation of your project. We will prepare and email an estimate to further discuss the project within (1) week after the on-site visit. Property must be owned by the person requesting the estimate and located within our service area.
For your and our company's protection, EZ Dock Marine, Inc is a fully licensed and insured marine contractor within the State of Florida, Charlotte and Sarasota counties. Both Charlotte and Sarasota counties require proof of insurance and license on a yearly basis to keep active and the ability to pull permits. We carry full coverage for general liability, commercial vehicles, workman's compensation, and Longshoreman's USL&H insurance. Our customers may request proof of coverage prior to the start of their project. Commercial projects sometimes require a certificate holder to be listed, which is available upon request.
Sometimes working through a builder muddles up the process. When it comes to specific licensing and insurance, permits must still be pulled by the marine contractor. The builder typically charges up to an additional 30% on the dock, lift, and canopy build. A huge savings in your pocket! Not to mention they often use lesser quality materials so they can meet the pricing of the builder. Lesser quality products might include non-marine grade lumber, non-marine grade pilings, galvanized hardware and bolts, wooden bunks and old flat plate drive technology on the boat lift, as well as cheaply made frames on canopies. Quality marine grade products are important here in our SWFL environment. With all of the costs of permitting, taxes, labor, and parts, you should want your project built right the first time. We work directly with clients referred by many builders to get the job done properly.
Funny story, but there is no ownership affiliation between the two companies. However, EZ Dock Marine is a huge fan of EZ Dock floating products and the premier dealer in Charlotte and Sarasota Counties to sell, permit, and install EZ Dock. It was a win win to partner up and give our customers direct access to their amazing products.
A property survey is a legal document showing boundary and property lines, utility and other easements required setbacks, etc. State and local permitting agencies require a recent "to scale" copy of the property survey. Some municipalities, such as City of North Port, require the survey to be less than 3 years old. We use the property survey to plan the new dock construction to protect the property owner and make sure all building codes and regulations are met and pass final inspections.
